The Arkansas Foodbank has been fighting hunger in Arkansas since 1984. In 2010, they distributed 13.2 million pounds of food to approximately 300 member agencies in central and southern Arkansas and to the state’s five other regional Feeding America food banks.

First Step is a place where children and adults with developmental disabilities receive educational and therapeutic service in a community setting. Developmental delays range from minor setbacks to severe problems. They strive to help each person develop the skills and behavior necessary to take the critical first step toward a more fulfilling life style.

The Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center exists to serve as a safe haven and loving refuge for care giving families. They provide excellent care, fun and stimulating activities, nutritious meals and a “family feel” environment for the precious senior citizens and other dependent adults that spend their days with them. Ouachita Children’s Center provides quality services for abused, neglected and troubled youth that empowers them to achieve success in their home, community, school and vocation by teaching accountability, respect and trust. They provide both residential and non residential services to clients including a 24 hour emergency shelter, family needs assessments, case management and therapeutic interventions.

Project Compassion brings joy, companionship and quality of life to residents of nursing homes. Over 300 volunteers provide one-to-one visitation, assist with group activities such as cards, crafts, bingo, and pet and music therapies. They also provide clothes and clothing protectors (bibs) to help maintain residents’ dignity at mealtime.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas (RMHCA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and their families by creating and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. Programs address the most urgent needs of the community to keep kids healthy and happy. These needs include how families can stay near and support a hospitalized child, how to afford staying together in another city while a child is undergoing treatment and how a child can receive basic dental care in an underserved community.
