‘Corks’ Options

http://www.corkforest.org/cork_reharvest.php

Cork ReHarvest has led the cork recycling movement in the US and Canada, helping to collect and recycle some of the billions of natural corks that are produced each year. They also educate the public about the vital importance of preserving and protecting the Mediterranean cork forests. Cork collection boxes are placed in grocery stores, wine and bottle shops and winery tasting rooms. They also partner with the Food and Beverage and Hospitality industries to collect cork at restaurants, hotels, wine bars, convention and performing arts centers. The major goal for this recycling program is to reduce the corks’ carbon footprint.

ReCORK is a natural wine cork recycling program. Natural cork, the kind used in wine closures, is a perfect choice for recycling. It’s 100% natural, biodegradable and renewable. There is no reason natural wine corks should end up as garbage when recycled cork can become flooring tiles, building insulation, automotive gaskets, craft materials, soil conditioner and sports equipment.

Special E is a unique green business that “rescues” items that are left over from special events such as banquets, receptions, weddings, private parties, galas, fundraisers, meetings, conferences, trade shows and more. They re-purpose them in ways that benefit our planet and people in need. The rescued items are redirected to a wide range of charitable and non-profit organizations. Items not being donated are re-purposed into other useful products by a one-of-a-kind network of recycling artists.
