Over the past 35 years, Arapahoe House has been a champion for families and individuals with alcohol, drug and other behavioral health issues.  They have helped people in their community, their friends, neighbors, siblings, parents and children, find recovery.  They have helped more than 15,000 members of the community find help, hope and healing from addiction every year.

Denver Urban Ministries provides emergency and stabilization services for all people in need. They provides food, rent/utility assistance, infant items, and legal advice to enable those in crisis to reach a level of stabilization. Staff and volunteers also work with each family to offer internal and external referrals to meet all of a family’s needs.

The Family Crisis Center provides a range of services and settings that offer hope and opportunity for children and their families. Their residential programs serve boys and girls from age 10 through age 18 by providing temporary shelter while they are awaiting a more permanent placement setting and therapeutic services to the child and family.

The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Denver along with over 50 congregations, assist homeless families by providing temporary shelter, meals, transportation and assistance finding work, housing, counseling and supportive services.

KID Foundation is a Colorado public charity which is the fundraising arm of the Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation. The mission of the SPD Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for children with SPD and their families. All proceeds donated by the KID Foundation to the SPD Foundation are used for SPD research, education and advocacy.

Sacred Heart House of Denver offers a continuum of services to homeless mothers with children and single women, who have the desire and commitment to become self-sufficient. They provide temporary, emergency housing, food and clothing. They also provide case management and referrals to resources within the community, so that the women can identify and begin solving problems that led to their homelessness. Through the Follow-Up Program and the Transitional Housing Program, former residents receive continued support in their struggle to live independently and successfully.

SafeHouse Denver serves victims of domestic violence and their children through both an emergency shelter and a non-residential Counseling and Advocacy Center. All of the women, children and youth who come to SafeHouse Denver have access to a full range of bilingual programming, including individual counseling, group sessions, advocacy and safety planning.

Second Chances is a children’s thrift store and commercial cleaning service. They are also a job training and faith-based life skills development program designed for single mothers and women in transition. The women are victims of domestic violence, drug abuse, sexual abuse, poverty, neglect and coming out of incarceration. Their goal is to work with women in all stages of recovery and tailor a plan for success.

The Teddy Bear Brigade’s mission is to bring comfort, security and love to children in need through the gift of a stuffed animal. They provide new and gently loved stuffed animals to children in need around the world. The gift of a stuffed animal is such a simple yet effective way to show a child that they are loved.

The Gathering Place is Denver’s only daytime drop-in center for women and children who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. Since 1986, they’ve existed to support these individuals by providing a safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency.
