The garments you recycle will benefit people all over the globe. Collected textiles and shoes are shipped to countries which are experiencing severe shortages of even the most basic clothing. Garments which are no longer wearable can be made into “rags” or pulled apart and reprocessed into fibers for paper, upholstery and insulation materials.

The program helps people find and keep employment through three programs including job-readiness training, a fast-track GED program and Career Gear, which provides professional clothing to men seeking work. All the services are provided free-of-charge to participants.

The Arc of New Mexico improves the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages by advocating for equal opportunities and choices in where and how they learn, live, work, play and socialize. Items donated to The Arc of New Mexico are sold to Thrift Town, a local for-profit thrift store. Thrift Town purchases its merchandise for its Albuquerque location exclusively from The Arc of New Mexico. This partnership provides annual unrestricted funds to The Arc of New Mexico and supports their efforts on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Ruby Room provides formal gowns to Seattle area high school girls who are unable to purchase their own dance attire. The Wichita Children’s Home offers emergency, temporary residential shelter for children. The Home is open 24/7 and serves children from birth to 22 years of age. Last year over 2,500 children came through their front doors, many with only the clothes they were wearing. The Home works to meet the needs of each child to ensure their safety and well being.
